While other mattress brands are increasing their MSRPs, the Cocoon by Sealy Chill has come down. Plus, if you buy before Friday you get an extra $50 off.
That mean you can buy a queen Cocoon by Sealy Chill Mattress for just $549 at Sealy. That’s the lowest price we’ve seen on this budget friendly cooling mattress all year.
We test the best mattresses of the year for all sleep styles and budgets. The Cocoon by Sealy Chill is an all-foam cooling mattress at a mid-range price, making it an excellent budget friendly option.
We were so impressed with its cooling capabilities at a bargain price that we’ve included it in our round-up of the best memory foam mattresses of the year. But is it the right mattress for you? Let’s take a look.
Why you should buy it
Aside from excellent value for money, the Cocoon Chill is a solid budget option if you’re looking for a cooling all-foam mattress that won’t break the bank. Although it is cheaper than other cooling options, it definitely holds its own against more luxurious brands.
Cocoon Chill sleeps cool, thanks to its Phase Change Material, which is designed to dissipate heat. That said, if you are a very hot sleeper we would advise paying extra for the Chill Hybrid, which is two inches taller and more breathable, thanks to its layer of springs.
We found the Cocoon to be a little on the firm side and didn’t offer that deep ‘hug’ feeling that is often associated with memory foam beds, making it a great choice for back and stomach sleepers. You’re also unlikely to be disturbed by your partner’s tossing and turning, thanks to the top layers of foam dampening movement.
Our only gripe with this mattress is its edge support, or lack thereof. Good edge support means you can sit/sleep near the edge of the bed without any sagging or feeling like you’re going to fall off, and the Cocoon falls short in that department. But for such a great price and its other impressive qualities, we can forgive this.
