Need a new laptop for the office? Save $500 on the Dell 16 Plus and improve your workflow

Dell 16 Plus

Dell//ZDNET

Dell is hosting a new Back to School sales event, during which many laptops, desktops, monitors, and other computing devices and accessories are available at significant discounts. Several configurations of the Dell 16 Plus are on sale for a limited time, and the savings you receive depend on which build you choose.

One of the biggest discounts belongs to the Dell 16 Plus sporting an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V with a 2.5K touchscreen. It currently retails for $950, a $500 price drop. The cheapest variant has an Ultra Core Ultra 7 256V and a 2.5K non-touch display. This is on sale for an even $700.

Finally, what is arguably the most powerful configuration is selling for $1,200. This Dell 16 Plus variant houses an Intel Core Ultra 9 288V processor, 32GB of RAM, and a 2TB SSD. Keep in mind that these are not the only configurations available. You can tell which ones are on sale by the information icons on the side.

The Dell 16 Plus is essentially a bigger version of the Dell 14 Plus, a laptop I reviewed back in May and that also won a ZDNET Editors’ Choice award. So, although I’ve never used this device, my experience with the smaller model tells me that it is a great machine.

Its hardware should deliver an impeccable performance, capable of handling heavy workloads and surfing the internet without slowdown. Those chiclet-shaped keys ensure a comfortable typing experience. Similar to its compact sibling, the Dell 16 Plus is made primarily of aluminum, allowing it to survive the rigors of the road.

How I rated this deal

As per ZDNET’s rating system, I give this deal a score of 3/5. You’re looking at a roughly 20% discount. This isn’t as good as past deals, which have seen this laptop receive a 35% price drop. Still, a discount is a discount. I suggest you jump at this opportunity before the sale ends. This is a great work laptop that will feel right at home in an office setting. It’s reliable, long-lasting, and performs well.
