Elastic Copilot: AI Coding Agent for VS Code

Hey Product Hunters!
I’m Andrew, co‑founder of Elastic Copilot. Like many developers, we loved what tools like Windsurf and Cursor promised; autonomous coding that just works but we found pricing opaque and the experience limited. So our small team( fully boostrapped) built Elastic on top of open‑source foundations and refined it into a true agentic coding assistant inside VS Code.

Elastic can plan and write features end to end, understand huge codebases, fix bugs, write documentation and even run terminal commands and CI tasks. We support multiple models (Claude, GPT & Gemini) We are huge fans of performance hence we do not limit token usage. Our pro plan starts US$15/month. All processing happens on our servers, so you get full‑context agentic coding without hidden API costs.

To celebrate our Product Hunt launch we’re giving away 100 free Pro subscriptions. If you’d like to try Elastic, head over to our landing page and grab a spot before they’re gone!

We also built a tiny viral side project to showcase what Elastic can do. It’s called TrendiGame, a fun web app that scrapes trending news topics from the web and lets anyone vote on what’s hot and most interesting. The app updates daily and shows live results, and you can share your votes with friends to spark conversation. Elastic Copilot built the entire site (front‑end, back‑end and scraping logic) which includes

Game modes: Players can pick from four modes which are Classic (higher/lower guesses on search volume), Hot‑or‑Not (vote on current trends), Blitz (60‑second rapid‑fire round) and a Daily Challenge highlighting the top five most‑voted topics of the day.

Stats & achievements: The platform tracks games played, win rate and streaks. There are 20+ achievements with bronze, silver, gold and platinum tiers, real‑time toast notifications, a points/leveling system and a dedicated progress page.

Leaderboards: Multiple leaderboard categories (total score, games won, highest streak, accuracy) update via WebSockets, with separate leaderboards per game mode plus global stats for total games and active players.

Social sharing: Users can share results and streaks on X/Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp. Custom share messages and dynamic URLs include scores, and visual share cards are generated automatically.

UI/UX polish: The interface is responsive for mobile and desktop, uses smooth Framer Motion animations, offers a dark theme with gradient accents and includes robust loading/error states and modals.

Technical stack:

Frontend: React with Context API for state, React Router for navigation, Framer Motion for animations, Socket.io for real‑time data and responsive CSS.

Backend: Node.js/Express server with MongoDB (via Mongoose) for persistence, Redis for caching and real‑time counters, Socket.io for WebSockets, REST APIs and News API integration for trending topics.

Infrastructure: Deployed on Heroku using MongoDB Atlas and Redis Cloud, with automated deployment scripts and a custom domain (trendigame.app).
autonomously, so TrendiGame is both a playful showcase and a real demonstration of agentic coding.

We hope you enjoy it and we can’t wait to hear your feedback
