The 7 Best New Paramount+ Shows and Movies to Watch in October 2025

Paramount+ has officially announced what new shows and movies are premiering in October, and they look to be viciously entertaining. Making its streaming premieres are Josh Hartnett’s new thriller Fight or Flight and the Dakota Fanning-led horror film Vicious, as well as an Ozzy Osbourne documentary and a true-crime docuseries about a modern romance haunted by deception.

In addition to the start of the fall network TV season, October also sees the return of Taylor Sheridan’s Mayor of Kingstown, with a fourth season. After the events that went down in season three, it’s a safe bet to assume this new season will be chock-full of intensity and action, as well as heartache. There’s even a Grammy salute to pop-rock icon Cyndi Lauper.

Here are 7 new titles arriving on Paramount+ in October, in order of release date.

1

Fight or Flight

Buckle up for some over-the-top, high-energy action in Fight or Flight, a new movie from director James Madigan (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts).

Josh Hartnett stars as exiled American agent Lucas Reyes, a mercenary who takes on the job of tracking a high-value asset known only as “The Ghost” on an international flight. When he realizes the entire plane is filled with assassins sent to kill them both, he must protect the target as they work together in a high-altitude fight for their lives. This John Wick-style action thriller is full of fun and has a cool 90s vibe to it that you’ll enjoy. As such, you should expect an extreme amount of graphic violence and super-inventive action sequences. Does any of it match the scene in John Wick 3 where the titular character killed an assassin with a hardback book? You’ll have to wait and see.

Do keep in mind that this work of entertainment is geared more towards those looking for a wild ride than a serious film, so get the popcorn and candy ready.

Fight or Flight premieres on Paramount+ on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

Red Alert

Red Alert is a new Paramount+ scripted series that portrays the terrifying true-life events of the October 7 attack on Israel in 2023. It was the biggest and deadliest massacre in Israel’s history, when more than 1,200 concert-goers, including families and individuals, were murdered near the Gaza border, with 250 people being kidnapped.

The four-part series draws from the true experiences of several civilian survivors, weaving their personal stories of courage into “a cinematic narrative of the devastating terrorist attack that turned southern Israel into a war zone,” a Paramount+ press release says. Its production credits include Pulp Fiction producer Lawrence Bender and Homeland producer Keshet Media Group.

Red Alert makes its series premiere on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, on Paramount+.

Ozzy: No Escape From Now

Produced in partnership with the Osbourne family and MTV Entertainment Studios, Ozzy: No Escape From Now is a Paramount Original documentary offering a deeply personal portrait of the late rock legend’s harsh new realities as he attempts to appear on stage for one final performance.

The feature-length documentary pulls back the curtain on Ozzy’s public persona and reveals the devastating setbacks he faced since having a serious fall in February 2019. Featuring the legend like you’ve never seen him before—honest, warm, and vulnerable, the film details how the singer’s world shattered years ago with an event that forced him to contemplate his identity, address his own mortality, and question whether or not he can ever perform again. It stands as a testament to his courage, determination, wit, and impressive talent, ensuring that his status as a hero to millions of music fans remains intact.

R.I.P., Prince of Darkness.

Ozzy: No Escape From Now premieres Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

Vicious

If you’re Halloween-obsessed like I am, you’ll want to check out writer/director Bryan Bertino’s latest, Vicious, which is mostly a one-woman show centered around a mystery box that unleashes the titular horror. Bertino is best known for The Strangers.

Dakota Fanning gives a compelling performance as Polly, a woman caught in a vicious loop of self-destruction due to her struggle with her own identity. When she receives an unexpected late-night visit from a disoriented older woman, she’s given a strange box that comes with one rule: Place inside something you need, something you hate, and something you love. The woman then disappears, and the game is on. When she opens the box, she’s sucked into a surreal, ever-changing nightmare where every choice she makes leads to terrifying consequences.

The film forces viewers to ponder what they would do if they were in Polly’s shoes and how they’d answer each question. Living up to its name, Bertino’s flick looks to be packed with carnage.

Vicious makes its original movie premiere on Friday, October 10, 2025.

Mayor of Kingstown (Season Four)

I’m most excited about this Paramount+ October release, as it’s one of my favorite TV shows. It’s also one of the platform’s best shows worth that subscription fee.

Mayor of Kingstown returns with its long-awaited—on pins and needles, I might—fourth season, which sees Jeremy Renner return as Mike McLusky, the unofficial underground mayor and city fixer between warring prison and gang factions. In season four, Mike’s control over the city is threatened as new players compete to fill the power vacuum left in the wake of the Russians’ annihilation. With his loved ones now in more danger than ever before, he must contend with a headstrong new prison warden to protect his own, while also grappling with angry demons from his past.

The new season is slated to take the show to the next level by bringing in this powerful new nemesis to go head-to-head with Mike. That person is none other than The Soprano’s Edie Falco, who we all know will be a force of nature with which Mike must contend. Will this be the season our mayor finally gets some sleep? Doubtful.

Mayor of Kingstown, season four premieres on Sunday, October 26, 2025, on Paramount+ with a special two-episode release. New episodes will roll out on Sundays through December.

Don’t Date Brandon

A new nail-biting true-crime docuseries, Don’t Date Brandon, tells the dubious story of a modern-day romance that unexpectedly goes off the rails into a risky game of deceit and lies.

When Amber meets Prince Charming online, she happily starts dating him. Why shouldn’t she? Brandon seems like a catch, for all intents and purposes. However, when Amber connects with his ex-wife, Athena, their worlds are rocked when they learn the truth about the man they opened their hearts to: Brandon is a liar who’s hiding some sinister secrets.

Amber and Athena, after comparing notes, team up to start a podcast to expose Brandon and discuss in depth the red flags they missed at the beginning of their respective relationships with him. As more of his victims come forward, shocking details emerge that’ll make you think twice before engaging in online dating.

Don’t Date Brandon makes its docuseries premiere on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

Ease your way into the fall season with these new releases, and don’t forget to take a peek at everything coming to Paramount+ in October. It is peak scream season, and there are plenty of titles to get you up that mountain!
