Ninja Kitchen is back at it again with a welcome upgrade to an already beloved and viral gadget.
The internet went wild when the Ninja Swirl launched in the U.S. in January and the U.K. in July, as eagle-eyed fans waited with bated breath for Ninja’s follow-up to the Creami. The soft-serve ice cream maker sold out in seconds, with thousands of customers waiting for restocks. Following the highly anticipated Ninja Slushi launch in February, it was only a matter of time before we secured the machine Down Under — and now, it’s finally here.
Stocked at retailers like Ninja, Amazon, The Good Guys and JB Hi-Fi, the Swirl has officially debuted today (August 18), nationwide. You’ll need to act fast to nab one, though, as we expect these fun dessert makers will fly off shelves.
Adding a whole new soft-serve feature to the mix, the Swirl incorporates the features of its predecessor but unlocks a new spin on the older machine. Once your ice cream has been processed on the Creami side of the machine, you can attach the tub and lid to the front of the machine. When attached, you can lower the lever on the side to dispense your creamy and delicious soft-serve. The Swirl also has six different soft-serve settings, so there’s sure to be some trial and error involved, but who doesn’t love experimenting with ice cream?
Thanks to enhanced Creamify technology, the Ninja Swirl has been dubbed a “one-spin solution”, whipping mixes faster than the Creami and Creami Deluxe. As a Creami owner, the only pain I’ve ever experienced is waiting hours minutes for my ice cream to process after the dreaded 24-hour freeze time, and then having to hit the re-spin button because the mix isn’t quite right. But thankfully, the new tech should have any ice cream fiend — myself included — chowing down on their favourite frozen treats in no time.
The Swirl doesn’t skimp out on new features either, adding a new setting to the existing lineup. With Creamifit, the machine will magically blend and process protein-based ice cream mixes just like regular, sugary ones and deliver better consistency. The health-conscious nut in me is looking forward to trying my favourite protein-rich mixes in a soft serve capacity.
Aside from the existing Creami features, the Swirl does take up more countertop space to allow the soft-serve side to shine, so do keep that in mind. And if you’re keen to try some mix-ins in your soft serve, you may want to think again, as you will risk clogging up the machine.
So do get in quick — or else the Swirl will sashay away.
